WIP is so rude.

Boy, I'm having a hard time. I've added a little more, mostly color. I think I may have to stop and let her sit for awhile. She stopped talking to me. How rude. Maybe shes just lost in her own little world. I best get on to a couple of commissions I need to do. If I ignore her maybe she will speak.....

Looking at WIP helps my eye.

I don't show WIP's because I'm so not ready to let the world see the unfinished work. But decided to let go of that and show the progress and maybe I can learn from seeing them on screen.

I really enjoy seeing everyone elses WIP. Do you find this helps you to evaluate your work as you go? I've noticed that when I take photos and look at them on my computer I see things I did not see in front of me. How can that be? But alas I do. It is like seeing someone elses work. It's odd.

This is going to be another tribute to Frida...."Lord, why do I need feet when I've learned how to fly"

art pictures of Jesus are for a dear customer who said she needed as much Jesus as she could get this year. She started teaching an elementary class of kids with behavior problems. Hope these help.

Special charm

Before I post my first giveaway I wan't to share with you a special charm I had made by Kelly Berkey over at Kellyberkeydesigns My husbands name which was embossed on his childhood bible and Kelly turned it into a fabulous charm for my son to wear on a chain. This will be a family keepsake for sure.

The package she sent this precious charm in is as beautiful as the charm. Thank you, Kelly.

Frida

OK. I tweaked her some more. Added the embroidered flowers on her dress and adjusted her mouth some. I'm finally happy with her. She has many layers and lots of texture.

Frida Kahlo

I've been working on this new Frida. I'm not sure how much farther I will go on her. Maybe she is finished. I will just have to wait and see if she ask for more. Talk to me Frida.

It was like Christmas today...

It was like Christmas today.. I recieved my package of beautiful art from Daisydolls Gypsy Caravan it was her first giveaway and I was the very lucky winner. It exceeded all my expectations. I knew it would be beautiful but WOW... Photos do not do your work justice...

I can not stop looking at all the detail. I will framing these for sure. The brush is so adorable I will think of you each time I use it. Thanks again.

Frida in mixed media

I have been wanting to do a Frida painting after watching the movie a few times last week. I have also been itching to do mixed media so here is what I came up with. The saying around her is " Why do I need feet when I have wings to fly". I love Frida so much I don't know if I want to let it go.

TA DA!!!!! I'm Done.......

Finally finished the last piece of the commission to Razzberies in Hickory N.C. I am so happy with all the work. It should make an awesome wall display. I wanted to hang them all up on my wall and photograph them, but I don't think my husband would like all those nail holes. I still may do it. It ended up being 12 pieces and all have been titled. Here is the last piece. I call it Bless this Nest.

Now what is next? I really want to do some mixed media and something Frida . I watched the movie twice this week and i'm obssessed to paint her. She was so beautiful.

More commission work done.

This one took me awhile. I felt stuck. But decided to just start and see where it went. Well I'm pretty happy with the direction it took. I love all the color, you know how I just love color. Only one more to go to complete the commission. I'm sure that will be the hardest. Kinda like the last out in baseball.
