Inspired by color

Another finished piece. I'm emersed in color right now. I can't get enough. Hope this enthusiasm last awhile.

After church today I got the inspiration to finish this angel. I do love the vivid color and am pleased with the over all composition. You can find her on Ebay tonight.

The Golden Ratio

As an untrained and naive artist I learned a very interesting lesson over at http://carriejoyart.blogspot.com/about The Golden Ratio. This was new to me and very informative. I am striving to utilize this in my works. For most of you artist this is nothing new but for those who don't know about the Golden Ratio you will find this a useful lesson. I recieved a commission to paint 10 whimsical pieces of art for a shop called Razzberries in Hickory N.C. Thank you God! He always knows what I need and when I need it. Now if I only knew too. Here is a sample of the work as I embark on this blessing.

The next great artist....

I have been waiting for this to come on and not sure what I think now that it has.
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about it is a reality show looking for the next great artist. Each week there is a new art project for each artist to complete. I'm hooked! Hoping this pans out into a great show as Project Runway did. Anyway if you have not seen it watch Wed. nights at 10pm on Bravo. Its a must for artist and art lovers.

My artistic view of Botticellins "The birth of venus" I am in love with her face. She is 4ft. tall ! I'm having a hard time deciding on a background. Can't wait to see her finished. I will keep you posted

New works on Ebay tonight

Two new items for Ebay tonight. Set of wooden plates that have a hanger on the back and a tall angel on finished grade wood.

I painted this for my sister in law who really loves the beach cottage look. I hope she likes it and doesn't see this before I can give it to her.

Today was spent painting as usual, but something for me, unusual. I will post photos as soon as I am finished. Lots of vivid color which I love so much.
