I don't show WIP's because I'm so not ready to let the world see the unfinished work. But decided to let go of that and show the progress and maybe I can learn from seeing them on screen.
I really enjoy seeing everyone elses WIP. Do you find this helps you to evaluate your work as you go? I've noticed that when I take photos and look at them on my computer I see things I did not see in front of me. How can that be? But alas I do. It is like seeing someone elses work. It's odd.
This is going to be another tribute to Frida...."Lord, why do I need feet when I've learned how to fly"
Hope you all are having a productive monday. I think I am going to, just by showing and looking at my own WIP in another way.
So beautiful, and beautifully written. I like your sensitivity. ~Kathy
ReplyDeleteGood for you for plucking up the courage to show your WIP! I know it DOES take courage to do that, show work at it's most vulnerable, before we really know where it will end up... I have the same experience- when I take a photo of my work and look at it on my computer, things look different, especially colour values, and I can see what I need to blend, tone down, brighten up, etc.
ReplyDeleteI too, love seeing people's work in progress, and so I thank you for being brave today!
This is beautiful, I think it's fun to see the stages. Sometimes if I over do a piece I'm always glad I had a photo of it at the earlier stage.
ReplyDeleteGreat work Joji. I have a friend who paints similar to the way you paint. It is just beautiful joji.
ReplyDeleteLove your personal style. Very beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm going to try doing this again :) As I said in my last comment (don't know where THAT one went)--I agree with you completely!! You get such a different perspective of your work when you look at it on the screen--a great tool for making art. And THANK YOU for sharing your WIP--can't wait to see what develops.
ReplyDeletePlease share the in betweens- they are my favorites!
