Jane DesRosiers "Klimpt challenge."

I haven't painted in months but was finally motivated by a challenge from Jane DesRosier to do your own rendition of a Klimpt painting. I love Klimpt and I love Janes work. What could be more inspiring!
Here is the begining of my own stab at it.
Check out Janes blog and have a go at it yourself.

Meditation for the day.
When I read this I knew I wanted to share it on my blog.
by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children. It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

Man in the Moon clock Table.....

I've been slow in producing my art as of late. So I thought I would show you something I did years ago. My sister in law has graciously allowed me to own it again as she is redoing a new home.
If you remember I started out painting furniture which is my first love. Actually I am working on some little girl things for a customer now. I will post some picks when i get farther along. Right now I am just priming...Boring....

Still here God....

God is good....I praise him in all my trials and tribulations for what he has shown me.
My thoughts and paintings are more vibrant and alive, amazing how dispair can be turned into glory.
I'm still working on this painting but I shall call her "Grace" for it is what God has given me. One of my favorite lines in the song "You Said" by Sherri Bryant is " Everybody had a word to say when all I needed was a little grace. Came in like fresh water, gave me the strength to carry on" AMEN....

I'm Here..I'm Here God..

I've been gone for 2 months from this blog, feels like 2 years and I feel like I have aged that much too.I have been dealing with a family crisis and have just been frozen in fear, grief and sadness.
I didn't paint for 2 months either. But I have started again. I was afraid nothing would come out joyously ever again and every painting would be dark and bleak but thanks to the grace of God I think I paint in more vivid color than ever. Funny how God sometimes must send us to our knees for us to see clearly. Thank you God and I mean that.
So here is the begining of my latest work....COLOR.

I'm Back....New painting.
I feel like I've been in a tunnel...I've been working on a new painting, totally ingrossed in it. I haven't even gone to Michaels to get the claymache to finish my doll. Think I've got a case of A,D,D. Oh well its how I operate, how about the rest of my artist friends out there. a little A.D.D. too?
