The art of Red Lipstick.....

Katelen over at "The Poetic Artist" had posted pictures of her 85 year old mother and a tube of red lipstick. I was hooked on the beauty of her putting on that red lipstick and asked her if I could paint her. Here is the painting that was inspired by that sweet blog. She is beautiful.....

Finally finished " Trailer Trash Thelma" I added the smoke trail (Thanks Gina) just what she needed to feel complete. I love her as she has roots in my past on many levels. Thelma was my grandmothers name but she was a far cry from Traler Trash Thelma. My grandmother was a staunch Baptist tee totaler. No drinkin, smoking,dancing or card playing. Her grandkids adored her. Not sure when she will be up for sale but soon I hope. It will be hard to let her go.

Ott lite....like natural light....

I was at Jo-Anne Fabrics today and they had Ott lites 50% off. reg. $14.99. I had been wanting to try one, so for half off how could I go wrong. I bought the 25w Ott which is equivelant to 100 w regular bulb so it says on the box. Thats all they had. They are suppose to give off light that is like day light.

Well I'm very impressed. A true white light. I paint in a room that has little day light that comes in and what a big difference. It really lets you see the true colors with NO GLARE easy on the eyes...I love that. I even went to touch the bulb after it had been on for 30 min and it was touchable. Saves on energy too. I'm sold.

Yep I'm obsessed with the direction my art is taking me and I'm not sure why. I feel so connected to these people that I must paint. Maybe I am the only one that sees thier beauty but I can not help myself.

I hope to finish this one in a day or two she needs some hair wrapped around those rollers.

"Blue people" are you surprised at who he is?

I know its been awhile since I showed the progress of the "Blue People " doll... but I haven't been able to do much on it. So now here is a little more progress and finally a peek at the direction he is going....Are you surprised? I know some of you tried to guess and none went down this path but I've had him in my mind for some time and I really like how he is evolving.

I need to get busy on some clothes. That will take some time as I am not so good at the machine and what I have in mind will not be easy for me.
