Cook Turkey From Frozen...Works Great!

I'm sure some of you knew you could do this but I never knew. If I had I would not of spent the last 35 yrs thawing my turkey. I tried this a month or so ago and was amazed at how it worked. I did it again today and same results. Moist turkey and no mess. No week long defrosting in my fridge taking up space, no drippy turkey spreading salmonella all over the kitchen. I can not think of a reason to ever cook my turkey any other way and with thanksgiving coming up and turkeys being cheap its time to put a few in the freezer. I read they can stay frozen indefinitely but best cooked within a year.

I see lots of new turkey recipes in my future

This is a photo of the turkey I cooked today.

  2. So good to hear from you...Sorry I should have given a little more info. It was a 12 lb turkey, set oven to 300 degrees place turkey on a rack and cook for about 2 hours take out and remove giblet pack.(if it dosent come out easily pull out in another hour.) Return to oven and cook about another 3 hours. Untill internal temp is 165 degrees. Check out the link at bottom of turkey picture for more details.
